Jamie Hughes –
Battleground 2013 was voted as the worst PPV of 2013 but i can’t quite understand why. Every PPV has to have at least one bad match on it.
It started with Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam in a Battleground Hardcore Rules match for the World Heavyweight Championship. I thought that his was a fantastic match with a lot of weapons that both men used to their potentials making it an enjoyable match. 8/10
Real Americans vs Santino & Great Khali doesn’t sound that entertaining but it was not as bad as it sounds. And I was impressed to see the use of the Cesaro Swing. 6/10
Curtis Axel vs R-Truth for the IC Title was one of the two worst matches of the night. Not good at all. 4/10
AJ vs Brie Bella for the Divas Title was a normal Divas match.6/10
Rhodes Brothers vs Shield was the second best much of the night with a lot on the line. A good match with all four men having a good match. 7.5/10
Cm Punk vs Ryback was the other worst match. Neither man performed well here. 3/10
Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan for the vacant WWE Championship wasn’t the greatest of matches. Both men had a decent match but the ending ruined it for me. 7/10

A lot of bad reviews for this pay-per-view event, but still it had some matches on the card that stood out.
The first ever Battleground hardcore rules match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Rob Van Dam & Alberto Del Rio. ****
The Rhodes vs Shield tag team contest. ****
Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. ****
