Don’t miss this one folks – the most chaotic Pay Per View of 2012!
The opening tables match was a fantastic way to open, but the 6-man TLC match stole the show, in a long, brutal encounter showing some of the most brutal bumps of the year, especially at the end! It just shows that WWE is still catering for the hardcore fans, and new fans alike – there is something here for everyone – if drama is your thing then the main event between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler weaved an interesting storyline with a fantastic matchl. This is a must-see PPV for sure! 🙂

Tables Match for the #1 Contenders to the Tag Team Championship: Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Team Rhodes Scholars – This was a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable match, lots of close calls with the tables and some nice chemistry between these two teams. The finish to this match was especially enjoyable and looked really devastating; very good spot to finish the match.

A nice backstage promo from The Shield hyping their match for later tonight.

United States Championship Match: Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth – This match just creeps above average in my opinion. These two men made the best of the time they had and put on a good match. Cesaro cuts a promo after the match stating that if the fans boo him they boo their own country.

A very intense interview backstage with Dolph Ziggler; some nice mic work hyping his match. Next we have a MizTV segment with 3MB, very entertaining segment with 3MB making fun of the Spanish commentators, Ricardo Rodriguez comes out to try and stop 3MB but they attack him until Alberto Del Rio makes the save; turning him face in the process. 3MB beat up on Del Rio until Miz evens the odds. 3MB challenge Miz and Del Rio to a match tonight if they can find a partner. An entertaining backstage segment with Team Hell No. We get an interview with Wade Barrett who says “The Wildcat is going to get neutered”…interesting choice of words.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Kofi Kingston vs. Wade Barrett – Very nice mixture of styles here; with some brawling, grappling and aerial maneuvers. Few matches manage to combine these elements perfectly but this match seemed to do so. Kofi picks up the win with an awkward looking Trouble in Paradise. This wasn’t a short match but it definitely would have benefitted with a lot more time. These two men could easily have gone twenty minutes and had an awesome match

CM Punk cuts a promo from his sky box about Ryback, The Shield and his championship reign. Nice promo.

6-Man Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match: Team Hell No & Ryback vs. The Shield – Going into this match I have to admit I was a bit wary; with three men who haven’t even had a WWE Match yet it was hard to tell whether this was going to be good or not; added to that was the fact we also have Ryback who isn’t accustomed to these type of matches and Kane who really is getting on in his age a bit to be doing big spots in these kind of matches. Never the less, I was proved completely wrong in this instance. This was an extreme brawl (One of the most extreme you’re gunna see in this current era) with some fantastic unique spots, these six men used everything imaginable to give us a great match like we’ve never seen before. The Shield proved here that they’re not just gunna be this month’s latest wrestling craze but they’ve got some substance behind them. These men definitely put their bodies on the line in this match; we had chokeslams through chairs, suplexs onto ladders, twenty foot falls through tables! This match had all you would want in an extreme match and more! Seth Rollins in particular showed us a lot of potential here with his athleticism, Ambrose showed off his awesome selling ability and Reigns showed a lot of intensity. As you would expect Kane and Ryback didn’t play a huge roll in this match but it doesn’t have a negative effect in any way. Fantastic match that is easily within the top three of the year.

Divas Championship Match: Eve vs. Naomi – We get a quick look back at how Naomi earned her way into this match (Winning a pre-show battle royal) before the match begins. I’ll be the first to admit than when Naomi won the battle royal I thought this was going to be another boring diva match but Naomi definitely proved me wrong! Naomi showed some fantastic athleticism here; some highly unique moves and proves that she should definitely be competiting a lot more in WWE than what she is now. It’s beyond me that Naomi isn’t one of the top divas on the roster right now! Great performance from Naomi but poor finish; Eve gets the victory after hitting her finisher after absolutely no offense throughout the match.

Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show vs. Sheamus – After a backstage interview with Big Show and a look at last week’s Smackdown where Big Show assualted William Regal and the Survivor Series match we start this match. I’ve got to say that after these two had a great feud like this I’m surprised and disappointed they didn’t give them a good promo heading into this match. Another brawl here as expected from these two by now, not a bad match but it’s definitely not their best (See Hell in a Cell 2012) although there were some unique moments with some nice chair shots and a very interesting finish too; with the biggest chair I’ve ever seen!

Alberto Del Rio, The Miz & Brooklyn Brawler vs. 3MB – This was the only match of the night that was a disappointment really; this match just didn’t need to be on the card at all. I’m sure The Brooklyn Brawler’s appearence may have been good for the Brooklyn crowd but it didn’t come off all too well on TV.

Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Contract: Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena – After about three months of build up to this match and an awfully boring storyline in my opinion I was glad to finally get the showdown between Ziggler and Cena and the end of this “scandal”; never the less the crowd were well into this match and both men put on a great match! Lots of unique spots with some nice grappling and reversals, there was never a dull moment in this match. We even had a funny little moment with AJ doing Cena’s typical moves on Vickie Guerrero (Vickie’s selling is horrific by the way) until AJ turned on Cena and pushed him off the ladder; costing Cena the match and giving Ziggler the win. Very good match here, can’t fault it at all. Both men put on a good show and I’m pleased WWE decided to keep the Money in the Bank briefcase on Ziggler here.

    Blu-Ray Exclusive Extras:

Ric Flair presents the Slammy to the Superstar of the Year – Ric Flair returns to present the Superstar of the Year Slammy to John Cena (who presents it back to Flair) CM Punk comes out and says John Cena or Ric Flair don’t deserve it but he does! (Which I completely agree with by the way) Nice segment

Big Show addresses the WWE Universe – Big Show delivers a great promo about how he is still the World Heavyweight Champion. Sheamus comes out and shakes Big Show’s hand until Big Show makes a comment that makes Sheamus assault him with the giant chair.

The Miz, Alberto Del Rio & Tommy Dreamer vs. 3MB – Nice surprise to see Dreamer make a one night return here, but not much more than that again. Average match.

Ryback vs. Antonio Cesaro – Pointless match, lasted a few minutes and Ryback wins by count out when Cesaro walks away from the fight.

Mean Gene Okerlund, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat & Jim Ross present the Slammy for Match of the Year – The End of an Era match is presented with the Match of the Year award. Triple H says we haven’t saw the last of The Undertaker!

John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler – This was actually a mixed tag team match with Cena & Vickie vs. Ziggler & AJ until AJ ran off and Vickie chased her. Not really a match of sorts as just as it’s about to pick up Big E Langston comes down and makes his debut, destroying John Cena. Nice way to make an impact.

Miz TV with AJ Lee, Dolph Ziggler & Big E. Langston – Nice mic work from Miz, AJ and Dolph here. Big E ends up taking out The Miz.

CM Punk addresses the WWE Universe – CM Punk delivers a great promo until Ryback comes out and challenges CM Punk to a TLC match on the first Raw of 2013!

    Verdict:

Overall this is a very solid PPV; with the exception of the six man tag team match every match is at least average (Most of them above average) The TLC match and Ladder match in particular are stand out matches which you will struggle to find elsewhere! A thoroughly entertaining PPV from start to finish; you won’t regret picking this up at all! I’d definitely rank TLC in the top three PPVs of 2012 with some excellent matches and consistency throughout the show and with a good deal of Blu-Ray extras you don’t really have an excuse not to pick this up. Definitely a PPV must buy!
